Xeus allows you to import an excel or csv datasheet containing your client data. The first row of your datasheet should contain column headers – Xeus will use these to try and guess how the columns should be mapped to fields in the CRM. For instance, if you have a column whose title is First Name, Xeus will assume that this should be mapped to the User > First Name field.
Each row must contain a cell that you plan to map to the Client > Organisation Name Xeus field. The other cells might contain address details, flexible model fields for your client, or the details of a contact at that client organisation. If you have multiple contacts at a single client organisation, your datasheet should reflect this by denormalizing (i.e. duplicating) the client organisation data across multiple rows. During the import, Xeus will first attempt to locate an existing client organisation with the organisation name specified. If one is found, the location and contact data provided in the rest of the row will be attached to the existing client organisation. If one cannot be found, Xeus will create a new client organisation record.
If your datasheet is a csv, you should ensure that any dates you want to import into Xeus are in UTC format:
Once you’ve arranged your datasheet, navigate to the Xeus client import page. Ensure the ‘Try to match column names to xeus model’ radio option is selected and click the upload button. After Xeus has had a chance to verify your datasheet format, you’ll see a representation of the first few rows of your data, along with a dropdown shown underneath each column indicating how Xeus will map the data in that column into Xeus. You can review and modify any of these until you’re satisfied that the mappings are correct.
Click Import to begin the import process. A progress bar will update every few seconds to provide some feedback about how the import is going.
